Unity Plugin Review
- Light weight
- HDRP support
- Includes authentic VHS font
VHS Pro Unity plugin info
VHS Pro is a small Unity plugin which is still pretty tweakable. Plugin is really easy to use because you only need to add the VHS script in your main camera. It is basically a post-processing effect with lots of settings to make it work in your project.
Plugin emulates cathode ray tube screens which were the most used technology in screens back in the days. If you have a Unity scene with security cameras or you want to achieve this authentic old school console gaming feel, this might be the right plugin for you.

Plugin Content
There is one demo scene which shows you an example how to use the plugin. Scene itself is very simple: only a simple plane on which a background image is added.
Then the post-processing script is attached to the main camera. On the screenshot you can see all the settings that the user can tweak. You can try to emulate CRT, add noise, jitter and phosphor trail if you want.

Conclusion
If you need old school VHS effect this is nice plugin to use. It is really simple and easy to use. Basically you just need to add the VHS script in your main camera and it’s ready to go.
At the moment it doesn’t support UPR pipeline but that will be supported after Unity starts to support custom effects in post-processing while using URP.
